International Flight Experience

Hey everyone,

So I made it to KOREA!!! I am staying in a Hotel until the end of the week when I can move into my own apartment. Enough about that, I should tell you about my flights. First I left St.Louis at 5:40 am on Sunday the 20th. From there I had a layover in Chicago, nothing special there. My next flight, to Tokyo was 13 hours long. On this flight they kept feeding us, like all the time, and dad, the guy bedside me had beer like with every meal, I think they fed us 5 times, and he didn't pay for any of them...I talked to an American lady before the flight, she is stationed in Tokyo, and said to take my shoes off in the flight, at first I was like yeah right people will think I am weird but once I got on I realized that many people weren't wearing shoes and they were all wearing slippers...This flight also had a ton of XM radio stations to chose from and each passenger got to chose their own station and even better than that were the TV screens in the back of the headrests. I got to choose my own movie and could chose from like 5 different movies and 2 different channels and they were on a continuous loop so I could watch movies during my whole flight...My favorite thing was the "map" feature, I told you how long you have been in the air, how many miles you have flown, the temperature outside and then showed where you are on the map. I mean it showed our flight pattern, when we were going over Alaska it showed a little plane flying over Alaska, when we turned around to go into a holding pattern due to congestion, it showed the plane making a little loop, it was crazy awesome! My layover in Japan was pretty uneventful. The only thing that was really interesting was how nice and polite everyone was. When I went through a security check point they were all like "can I check your passport?" like after I handed it to them and then I set off the metal detector with my shoes and they were like "will you please take them off" and I did and she said " may I take your shoes to inspect?" It was crazy them being so nice, but then again I am used to Americans that just want you to get out of the way...Anyway, I have a HUGE day tomorrow. I have to go to orientation and the doctor and all kinds of crazy stuff so this is it for tonight, look for tomorrow's post about the school!

Question 1: Mom, did you really want pics of the inside of planes and airports? Honestly it was very similar to everyother plane and airport...and that is how I spent day 1.
Question 2: YES, I am finally here...
Question 3: Nora, I am teaching English in South Korea for a year to kindergarteners, so far it is amazing. That is pretty much it.
Question 4: Erica, I only have a couple of hours a day to spend on the net, what you should do is invite people on facebook to check out my blog then they will post comments and then you can read all of those and that will take up more time ;) But seriously again, in and out of airports/planes all day...not interesting.
