Today Hannah and I traveled to Insadong. It is an area of Seoul that has an atmosphere of being in the past. There are a ton of little shops and restaurants and teashops in this area. While we were there we wandered down an alleyway filled with restaurants, some pictures of the alleyway:

The restaurant that we ate at, it was really nice and very charming.

A "mall", the shops were filled with handmade items and trinkets. Very cute, expect your souvenir to come from here ;)

Us and this thing...we don't know what it is but there were a ton of items in a store with this girl on it. We thought that it was a perfect picture opportunity!

Near Insadong is Tapgol Park. This is PalGakJung, built in 1897 and was where the Declaration of Independence was recited.

Inside of this "pagoda" is a stone monument that describes the construction of Wongak Temple. I tried to get a picture of it but I just couldn't make it look good, sorry. Personally I think the outside is better anyway...

Wangak Temple, built in 1465. It is enclosed in a glass building so taking a picture was hard. It is 12 meters tall and each level have many carvings. There are Buddhist scriptures and WonGakKyung preserved in the tower.

This memorial was built in 1980 to commemorate the Declaration of Indepence.

This is just a market that we walked around in after we were at the park.
